A busy day in San Fran

Good Evening Everyone,

Well, I haven't done much writing today - but I did get some email interview questions sent off to Ms. Erin Gruwell of The Freedom Writers Foundation. For those of you who are not familiar with the story of The Freedom Writers, Ms. Gruwell began teaching at Wilson High School in Long Beach around the time of the Rodney King riots. At Wilson, Ms. Gruwell faced much adversity both from the faculty and students. Racial tension between students was at an all time high, yet Ms. Gruwell worked to unify the students - inspiring them to work toward a better life. When Ms. Gruwell petitioned to continue teaching the class that had become a family in their junior and senior years, the schools administration used every possible method to thwart her. Eventually however, the board of education saw the value in Ms. Gruwell's work and she was allowed to continue teaching her students. Ms. Gruwell is a story of inspiration to many and I am absolutely thrilled that she has offered to assist in this project!

Unfortunately, I am out of time - it is raining in San Francisco and I have to finish studying for a business test. Take care everyone.

Matt
